Don’t Forget Your Siblings!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I’ve been using sharenotes.com for a while now, mostly uploading my notes which has made me a little extra money here and there. Plus I’m hoping I might win one of those free ipods! Anyway I had a tip for those of you out there with older siblings. I have an older brother who was in college a couple of years before me, and I got his laptop as a hand-me-down, turns out he’s got a bunch of old lecture notes on there. So I just started loading those as well as my own.

I didn’t know if the materials would still be in demand, but as it turns out, I’m getting some downloads on them. College professors tend to stay with a school a long time and the curriculum stays mostly unchanged, so the notes are still pretty good. If it took too long it probably wouldn’t be worth the effort to add other people’s notes, but luckily the sharenotes.com website is pretty nice. The uploads only take a few seconds so it’s worth a little extra effort. The best part is ipods do not split 50/50 so if I get one with his notes, it’s all mine!

I highly recommend it to any student who is looking for notes online. The iPod giveaway just seals the deal, I had to upload my notes to sharenotes.com.

Congratulations to Rishi Dar

manasCongratulations to Manas Tetarbe from the University of Michigan! He uploaded the 500th note to Sharenotes.com, and we sent him an iPod Touch to say ‘Thanks!’ He had the following to say about us:

“In this fiercely competitive world, where employers and graduate schools are asking more and more from their applicants, good grades is just not enough. Applicants today, in addition to good grades, need research experience, volunteer work, extra-curricular activities etc. etc. to have a decent shot at getting into their dream school or job. All the extra stuff very obviously asks for some serious time commitment, and since there are only 24 hours in a day, a few sacrifices have to be made. These sacrifices sometimes come in the form of skipping class, just to get some sleep to get through the day. But, skipping class means losing class notes. In comes sharenotes.com . With the growing quantity of notes from colleges all over the nation on its website sharenotes enables students to skip class but still be in touch with the material. The source of these notes are students itself who managed to make it to class, and now are willing to help a few classmates out. These students upload their notes onto the website and in return get valuable gifts and prizes. Its a win win situation for everybody.

I, personally, started on this site as an uploader over the summer, but with Fall semester on the way, its only a matter of time when even I will have to go to sharenotes.com to catch up on a few notes. And since the site is so easy to navigate, my catching up should be a breeze.
Finally, if I were to describe sharenotes.com  in one sentence it would be “sharenotes.com helps students do more in less”.

Thanks a lot,
Manas Tetarbe

Congrats, to our First iPod Winner

patelCongratulations to Mrugesh from the University of Michigan! He uploaded the 250th note to Sharenotes.com, and we sent him an iPod Touch to say ‘Thanks!’ He had the following to say about us:

“I first found Sharenotes.com while searching for the best site for uploading and downloading notes for my classes at the University of Michigan. Sharenotes.com had become very popular with simple layout and easy uploading of lecture notes or exams for free or for a small price. The easy upload window made uploading the numerous notes that I have a simple task. The iPod promotion sealed the fate of uploading the notes to Sharenotes.com and attempt to win the iPod. I really like the fact that one can set a price for notes as the person taking the notes deserves something if one took great notes for a difficult class. I hope to upload more notes onto the site as I take more courses at the University of Michigan and notes of classes completed. Thanks to EVERYONE who helped to make and run Sharenotes.com and THANKS especially for the IPOD.”

Enjoy your iPod Mrugesh, and happy uploading!
