One of my few pet peeves is students who don't read their syllabus or prepare for class ahead of time; then they come into class asking all their neighbors: "What are we doing today? Is there a quiz today?", etc. These are the ones who are usually well-advised to drop with a W because they are almost always well over their heads. About drowning your sorrows in libations, I agree; don't forget that sorrows can swim. I advise avoiding the bookstore like the Black Plague; it is always a rip-off. Amazon and Bookfinder.com have become trusted sources. Making connections with other students in your major is also great advice.

Nice work Edward! Believe me there are so many other things that you need to spend money on when you're in college... food for example! Books are very important, but a digital book, a used one, a rented one or a new one all contain the same exact information!

I like the tips of success that you have given us. Because of this blog I was able to find a website that rents out books for over 60% off! Thanks!
