I know that for the most part we are lucky out here in CA, with seemingly perpetual sunshine. But even out here the sun worship is not limited to the out doors. Tanning beds and spa’s are rampant as I’m sure they are for all of us on sharenotes.com. I was reading today, that a new study has classified Tanning Beds (or more specifically the ultraviolet light they use to crisp you up) to be as dangerous as Arsenic. The study reveals that the risk of Skin Cancer goes up 75% when tanning beds are used before the age of 30!
I bring it up because most of us on sharenotes.com are in that category and the need for a deep brown tan sometimes feels like a necessity. I know that more than a few of you use tanning beds (it’s okay you can admit it) to launch your skin tone into levels of the Hollywood elite. I know some girls here at my school that go religiously, weekly and in some crazy cases, daily! I can’t help but worry a little for some of my friends.
Of course studies are never completely conclusive and I’m sure many people will ignore their findings. I have a feeling that Tanning Spa’s are in no real danger of loosing any serious business. What do you think sharenotes.com? Leave your comments below.
